On December 6, 1917, Finlands indepence from Russia was made official. This year we celebrate 100 years of independence in Finland with many different happenings.
In the weeks before the magical date of December 6, several light installations Luminous Finland 100 were lit up in different locations throughout the country. The project was planned and excecuted by Valoparta Oy and Kari Kola. The largest part was lighting up the fell Saana in Lapland, an area of 2,5 million square meters.
I traveled to Saana to see the art work and hoped to photograph it with auroras above the fell. Luckily the weather and the aurora activity was good and here are some of the photos I took:
Das blaue Licht am Saana passt gut zum grün der Polarlichter.
Klasse Farben.
Ja, das war etwas besonderes. Am nächsten Abend hat dann ‘nur’ das Mondlicht und etwas Polarlicht den Saana angestrahlt 🙂
So beautiful! Touching photos of lovely Finland.
Thanks for commenting, Stella. Glad you enjoy the photos 🙂
